Baby Shower Footprint Invitation
Are you looking for a fun and unique way to announce a baby shower? Here is a wonderful way to do it that is quick and easy and sure to liven up the occasion. Send a baby shower footprint invitation and set the tone for your shower.
You can find the supplies for making baby shower footprint invitations at any office, craft or art supply store. You decide what kind of paper you wish to use for the invitation card. Choose a heavier stock for the card itself. It can be any color you like. Of course, if you know beforehand if it is a boy or a girl you can go the traditional pink or blue, but there really is no limit to the colors you choose. If you choose a dark color for the card itself, you can pick out a nice silver or gold gel pen for writing the announcement on the front and the party information inside. The card could be made from inexpensive stock or from a nice handmade paper. Some of these come with colorful flowers pressed right into the paper.
For the outside, simply cut out baby footprints from any kind of paper that is a complimentary color and glue it to the font using white glue. If the card is dark, use light paper for the footprint and vice versa. Pastels are always good for this sort of thing as the softness of the colors gives off a happy, warm tone. You can use any sort of paper for this as well, from inexpensive construction paper to fancy parchment or handmade papers with artsy fibers woven into them.
For the message it is really up to your imagination. “It’s a Baby Shower!” is all you need, but it’s up to you how cutesy you want to get with it. “Follow me to the Shower” or “Next Step; Mommy!” are cute ideas. Or you could just leave the front alone and let the inside do the talking. Of course, the idea is to inform the recipient of the event and when and where it will be. The standard approach is to list the guest of honor, the host and then the date and time, the location, and directions. Phone numbers for questions and RSVPs are a good idea as well.
It is a good idea to note if the party is a surprise, as you don’t want the guest of honor contacted before the party and the surprise inadvertently spoiled. Send the baby shower footprint invitation out four to six weeks before the date of the shower. This will give the guests time to work with their schedules to insure the biggest turnout.
